Capturing the tone is everything to Alan Dickson . Tone is his inspiration. It’s the one thing he remembers most about a place - whether it’s a gloomy day looming over a barn or a beautiful sunset glowing through the trees, it inspires him . Through his artwork Alan Dickson tries to convey the mood of the day. Tone is paramount and forms are secondary. It slows him down and allows him to connect with nature and the artist hopes that the viewer can experience the same vicariously through his art.
His works have recently been bought by the Irish State Art Collection (Office of Public Works) from The Chimera Gallery in Mullingar, Ireland and are now being displayed alongside Ireland's finest Artists, in such places as The National Gallery of Ireland, 'Aras an Uachtarain' (President of Ireland's office), Dublin Castle, Leinster House, The Four Courts etc.
