A new addition to the Puffin Gallery, Hugh G. Rice's exhibition in July 2019 consisted of paintings executed during his annual three month stay in Ballycastle.

Paintings are acrylics on canvas. We love the beautiful semi-abstract landscapes with the blend of greens, yellows and blues.

"My most recent work explores an expressive interpretation of an Irish Landscape. I use acrylic paint on a quality canvas. This modern medium is applied with a variety of tools including brushes of all types and sizes, paper, card and palette knives. Heavy paint is dragged over the canvas and allowed to flow using various amounts of water. This process is repeated using different colours over a period of time. The canvas may be rotated often while upright on an easel or flat on a table. The result is what you see. A unique Hugh G. Rice style created for you to enjoy"
